Geography and Math Non-Traditional Graduate Student Professional Development Fund
It is the Donors’ preference that contributions to this fund be directed to the following purpose at Appalachian State University: To provide financial support to non-traditional graduate students majoring in a course of study in the Department of Geography and Planning or the Department of Mathematical Sciences within the College of Arts and Sciences. It is the donors’ desire that funds be used for cost of living and travel expenses related to internships, conferences, and research. Students who are experiencing financial and other difficulties that are interfering with their ability to remain productively enrolled at Appalachian State University are also eligible to receive awards. Applicants must provide a one-page essay describing their financial need and plan for the use of funds. Annual scholarship distributions may be divided and awarded equally per semester or in one sum for the academic year. Awards are renewable. Administration related to this scholarship is the responsibility of the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences in coordination with the Chair of the Department of Geography and Planning and the Chair of the Department of Mathematical Sciences and their representatives.
